Battlefield 4 getting a novel and other merchendise
EA is fully on the merchandising bandwagon with Battlefield 4. Not only will the game be getting a ton of branded stuff like t-shirts, bags, keyboards, mousepads and what not, EA has also commissioned for a Battlefield 4 novel as well.
This isn’t far too off from BF3, which also had a book. The Battlefield 4 novel, written by Peter Grimsdale, follows the same storyline and characters of the singleplayer campaign, and elaborates on many of the things.
In addition to the novel, EA will also release Battlefield 4 branded PS3 and Xbox 360 controllers, keyboards and mice made by Razer, headsets, hoodies, keychains, hats, smartphone cases, and more. Yep, EA is just one step away from going full on Angry Brds with Battlefield 4 merchandising.
This looks to be the future of high-profile video games, as publishers are looking to maximize revenue from all sources. We wouldn’t be surprised if EA is talking to some Hollywood movie studio over a possible Battlefield 4 movie.
