New DLC is finally released on PC, alongside a new patch as well.

Naval Strike and new PC update now available for PC owners

After a short delay, DICE has now released the Battlefield 4 Naval Strike expansion pack to PC gamers as well. It was supposed to be released last week, but was delayed at the last moment due to quality control issues — DICE had found some bugs that needed to be fixed before they released the DLC.

In addition to the Naval Strike DLC, DICE also released a brand new Battlefield 4 patch to PC gamers, the same patch that was released last week on consoles. It includes the same updates to netcode, general stability improvements, and weapon and vehicle tweaks as well.

The PC patch also includes an update to the AMD Mantle API that Battlefield 4 supports. The Mantle update fixes several crashes and bugs, and optimizes the technology for better performance.

Both Naval Strike and the new PC patch are available for download now. The Naval Strike DLC is only available for Premium owners, while the patch is available to everyone. Naval Strike will be available in two weeks to non-Premium players, where it will cost $15.

Out of 5 people trying this for 45 minutes.
1 never got on coz of the famed “open usb ports” ea disconnect.
1 got stuck in death scene then after a few minutes “bf4 has stopped working”.
    3 ppl still playing.

Is that a 60% success? Amazing release. I’ll check in after next patch.

Just jumped on with my friend and was surprised by the quality of the maps. Definitely the best first impression that a new expo has given so far. Disappointed that the carriers don’t have defenses like the titan’s did, but I like how big they are (like small locker inside). Only one of the maps seems to be a sniper haven like the other water maps, so that’s good. The hovercraft are super fun to whip around on, although sure feel weak to all the FAC.

As for bugs, it seems they haven’t fixed the command card in HC on kill still. Vehicle sounds don’t play during the 10s intro music (no big deal). Never had any crashes or other bugs in the couple hours.

Terrible rubber banding in first few rounds played. I have 150mbs down wired connection 50 up so its not on my end. Sniper fest for the most part. Hover craft are fun. Not worth the extra week delay it took to fix whatever. Last time I pre order or premium anything again.
