EA has announced Battlefield Hardline, a tactical Battlefield shooter akin to Counter-Strike and Pay Day. The game will offer both a singleplayer and multiplayer mode, where multiplayer will include game modes such as hostage rescue, banks robberies, and more.

Battlefield Hardline will be fully revealed at E3 on June 9, but a lot of details about the game have already been leaked. For example, we know that players will be able to purchase weapons before each round, just like in Counter-Strike.

Maps in Battlefield Hardline will focus on one or two large, key locations, such as a bank, a library, a museum, a car dealership, etc.

The game is developed by Visceral Games, the team behind the Dead Space series. Battlefield Hardline will be released this Fall on PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. It will use Battlelog just like Battlefield 4 for its online and stats tracking features.

Since Battlefield Hardline is a spin-off from the main series, we expect Battlefield 4 to still be top priority at DICE. What do you think of the idea behind Battlefield Hardline? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section!

Seems interesting but at the same time it doesn’t. Not a fan of purchase of weapons like in CS. Maybe if it was “Get $$ for each objective/kill and that’s how you buy guns+level up” then I wouldn’t mind, but for each round/game. Meh

I just honestly don’t know what to think about it. Something is telling me not to like it, but on the other hand robbing a bank could be cool…but how would the teamplay work

Not a lot of info so maybe that’s why. Not a game on my wishlist yet. We’ll see what happens

Looks like shit. Is it even using the BF4 engine? Then again maybe its not and it will actually work on day 1.

I personally won’t buy it until its been out for a year if I buy it all. Never again EA/DICE will I be taken.

The only reason i’m excited for Hardline is so DICE can focus more on fixing BF4 and on developing SW:Battlefront.

Looks interesting. I definitely won’t be paying $60 or buying “Premium” for it though. I think I’ll wait until it goes on sale…….say 50% off.

This is veering off of what Battlefield is. Battlefield is loved for it’s vehicles, aircraft, large maps and basically anything on the battlefield you can grab and go. This is what sets it apart from Call of Duty and everything else. The description of this game implies it’s a call of duty look alike. If they are going to do this, plse use another name other than Battlefield. This is not battlefield, and I will not touch this whatsoever. I love my battlefield the way it’s meant to be, not imitate a knock off. So make more expansion packs for BF4, or have a double Xp weekend that doubles your kills, not points to help unlock attachments. If you insist on going this way, how about just “Hardline”! When this game is launched, you will find me in BF4.

    Well, it’s official.

    BF = CoD

Franchised BS just trying to make another version of a garbage game purely to sell copies to make money.

The game industry has really gone to hell. Pretty much no studio can make a game that they want to make because they were inspired to do so. Everything is controlled by the suits whose sole purpose is to make as much money as they can, hand over fist preferrably. If making the main female character run around in a bikini will generate 1.8% more box sales according to their research, they’ll do it, who cares if its against the lore/design/etc of the game.

IMO Crowdfunding is the only way we’re going to get any quality games anymore.

All thats left is Battlefield 245: Ultra Spec Ops Edition, or Call of Duty 975: Drone Strike, Special Black Undercover Operator’s Brogamer Edition.

Dice is useing the CTE for Battlefield Hardline.

Also Dice and Viscarel claim that Hardline WILL NOT be like the release of BF4 and will have fixed the Netcode Problems, etc.
