First look at the new Battlefield 4 weapons (video)

Check out the 5 new BF4 weapons in action!

The next Battlefield 4 patch will include 5 new weapons, such as the AN-94 assault rifle. However, we can get an early peek at the weapons in action because DICE recently added them in the latest CTE update.

The video above shows the new weapons in action, including the AN-94. However, it’s clearly a work in progress, as most of the weapons have yet to receive proper textures.

The weapons will be added for free to all players in the upcoming BF4 Spring patch. However, as we reported earlier, the Spring patch will not include the new night maps.

The release of the weapons also means we know the names of all the new guns. They are:

  • AN-94 assault rifle
  • Groza-1 assault rifle
  • Groza-2 assault rifle
  • L86A1 assault rifle
  • Mare’s Leg, aka Saddle Gun Sniper (compact rifle/pistol)

Here’s a damage chart for the new weapons as well:

I’m still hoping that they put the XM8 series of guns in the game, I loved those things in BF:BC2

Nice that they are doing this but I would be happier if they just fixed the bug with grenades disappearing when you die after throwing them. It wasn’t in BF3, but has been in BF4 since release in 2013.
Hence to me, this is like putting a bandage on a leg to fix a head wound. Bandage? Great! Wound? Not fixed. 🙁

The ‘L86A1 Assault Rifle’ should be replaced with ‘L85A1 Light Machine Gun’.

Its also possible that the gun depicted, could also be the L86A2 variant, as it is an improved version of the L86A1 LMG. This is the first LMG introduced in BF4 since the Second Assault DLC introduced the M60E4- took you long enough.

The video clearly depicts the GROZA-1 as either an SMG or Carbine and the GROZA-4 as an AR. The GROZA-1 should have been the AR since it fires the heavy 7.62x39mm round and has a much longer Barrel and the GROZA-4 should have been the SMG or Carbine, since it is chambered for the 9x39mm round and has a much smaller barrel, IRL.

This reminds me of how they completely screwed up the classification of the Galil ACE variants for the base game…
