Battlefield 4 Recon class

Battlefield 4 recon classThe Battlefield 4 Recon class is a sniper class meant to engage the enemy from a distance. However, the Recon class isn’t limited to long range combat. Players can equip their soldier for a more offensive role, and help the team achieve the objective. Recons are also great for defensive roles, where they can deploy motion sensors that warn against nearby enemies.

Battlefield 4 recon class overview

The Recon class is a very popular class for players who aren’t fond of intense, close quarter combat. With their sniper rifles, Recons can hang back and keep an overview of the battle, picking off enemy soldiers, spotting enemies, etc. That’s not to say it’s a purely defensive class — with the right loadout, the Battlefield 4 Recon class an be an effective offensive soldier.

Battlefield 4 Recon tips

Battlefield 4 recon class renderThe Recon in Battlefield 4 is a tailored for long range combat with sniper rifles. When you assume the role as a sniper, it’s important not to just pick off enemies in the distance, but also to spot enemy soldiers and vehicles. You can help your team in many other ways, for example, by setting up a mobile spawn point, or by switching to an SMG and be more offensive. It’s important to read the battle and see where you can help. If there are lots of snipers shooting from a distance, it’s more helpful if you switch to an offensive loadout and go help your team attack the objective.

Battlefield 4 Recon weapons

The Recon is the sniper class in Battlefield 4, which means the main weapon is a sniper rifle. However, the Recon class also has access to a wide range of other weapons, including shotguns and compact sub-machine guns. Like all other class, the Recon has access to DMR (Designated Marksman Rifles), which are effective both in close and long range, depending on the rifle.

Depending on the map and objective, it might better suited to use smaller weapons instead of the sniper rifles. Some of the semi automatic sniper rifles are great in close quarter combat, especially when paired with a short range scopes. The rifles can also be equipped with silencers and laser sights, making them even more versatile.

Battlefield 4 Recon class gadgets

The Battlefield 4 Recon class also has access to gadgets such as a spawn beacon, where squad mates can spawn, and a ground sensor, which spots nearby enemies. unlike in BF3, the Recon class can now unlock and use C4 explosives, which are effective against enemy vehicles and buildings. The new gadgets and equipment give the Recon class a better chance to help out the team — the MAV is great at spotting enemies on the map, and the radio beacon makes it easier for squad mates to spawn closer to the action.

What I want back is my 50 CAL. THAT was a really good gun. They need that back in BF4.

I heard that The .50 will not be unlockable but instead you van pick it up in certain parts of the maps. But that is not official

Erm… Did you go through the list of weapons? M82 is .50 cal. But you’ll have to find it on the map.

          an m82 isnt always a 50, it can also be a 30 or larger than a 50

that’s not true the m82a1 or the m107 was a semi-auto 10+1 .50 cal anti material/anti-armor long range sniper system. not larger or smaller than .50, though barret did make sniper systems in other calibers like .416 magnum, and .338 lapua magnum, but those weren’t the m82.

You can find it in the big tower thing thing in Paracel Storm, in towers around the maps. The Barrett M82A3 also can have Rifle Scope , M145 and Rifle Scope ( 16x ).

The barret m107 .50 cal is hidden on top of the radar watch tower in the map paracel storm. Or you can use the m82 .50 cal in the recon class. This game is by far the best mutiplayer FPS so far. I did not think COD: ghost had that good of online gameplay but it did have the best single player mode ever. What BTF4 lacks in single player the online xp makes up for it vis-versa for COD: ghost.

They’re not sure. They said in the home page that most of the things here are their thoughts on what might be kept based on what is in BF3. I also saw a video with a Dev. that said that classes will be allowed most weapons. Like a RECON with an AR or SMG. But of course, I still think the Sniper Rifles will be kept to recon.

Recon in battlefield 3 is for nothing, damage of sniper smallest increasingly far that this in real life is completely the contrario. Personnel not to let the damage be the same at any distance further decreases … which way you play with a sniper rifle is 150 meters from the damage is 59? (in the case of M98B). Want to spoil the recon class that spoil so in normal mode. No hardcore is to kill with one shot even on foot. Sniper to 1000 feet away see a guy on a bike can pray to hit headshot because if not it does not kill. Thing more ridiculous. Sniper in real life is trained to aim for the “mass effect”, ie the chest and kill with one hit. The guy comes near you with a machine gun and you still have to hit 2 hits with the best bolt action sniper game. Damage of at least two sniper bolt action should be 100. The motto of a sniper is one shot one kill. This does not happen in the battlefield, so many people still play COD because at least it’s right there.

      August 12th, 2013 at 1:59 pm

Yea, the sniper rifles are to under powered. I think that that a bolt-action SR should have at least 75 to 80 minimum damage, reached at very long range. But that ofcourse depends where you hit (chest), and headshots should be 100% at all distances. However I am aware snipers could be to OP in some ways. Making it hardet to quick-scope (hate it) would make it easier for other classes to encounter a sniper at close range, making snipers less effective at close range. It is to easy to QS in bf3.

Im not quite sure if Call of duty is more relistic than Battlefield in the sniping section, i dont see First Recon Soldiers jump in circles off a crane, duck down and hit a triple headshot on an office building, no sir.

but as a Casual recon class guy id rather want the guy to be dead when ive shot him in the neck or torso.

Id also want to get my C4 back, being a Recon and ending up in Grand baazar isnt exacly the home field, after all i cant see what map im going to play in the Reward/unlocks menu.

and to all of u people who hate snipers that camp, im sorry but thats how the sniper class works, u dont whine about a sniper running around on the battlefield simply cause u know that he’s an easy prey.

I also don’t see snipers in real life 360 quick-scoping or just working in call of duty at all cause all its maps are tiny

    • Nik
      December 5th, 2013 at 9:55 am

Actually if you are withing 15 meters of a sniper, the bullet will deal 100 damage no matter where the bullet hits. I get 1 shot kills with my .338 recon almost 80% of the time. Also quick scoping quiet easy once you get used to it. So i see this as a balanced part of the game. Only this i want fixed is the crashes

I Hope they Buff The Scout elite sniper’s Bolt Speed a little up, and make sure that there is a disadvantage for the something like a speed reduction or maybe a med accuracy and not a close to perfect one

    • Pheonix
      October 30th, 2013 at 5:11 pm

Well, large caliber rifles are designed for power and accuracy, what would be the point of making a .50 sniper if you only had accuracy up to 500ish meters? Better disadvantage would be each shot displays your location all over the map, after all a giant .50 is really noisy. Plus, it would make it a little more competitive to actually keep hold of that .50 for more than a few minutes at most.

All I want as recon is my SKS. IMO one of the best all around weapons of the game. I don’t think of it as a “sniper” weapon; it’s a battle rifle. I think it’s a shame that it’s only for recon, but it makes it possible to play recon more aggressively…not just sitting on a mountain top or f***in’ crane some where getting 3 kills in an entire round.

They make it sound like all classes can use the SKS…I wonder if thats true. It would be a nice option to have as an Engi (since their carbines aren’t that powerful or that accurate past 20m).

In real life the m98B, at 1600m will do the same damage that a .44 magnum do at close range. Because of the synetic force your head explode with a .44 magnum so a sniper at 1600m will make your head blow up. So conclusion… youre dead!! But same with arms, leg and body center. BUt not in videogame

In what order is the pistols and snipers and like in BF3 you get the M1911 with suppressor are they going to do it again if they do it should you can pick 1 weapon from any class and a pistol I would pick the SRR-61 sniper and the FN57 pistol beat your guys and girls butts when it comes out to all you 360’s see you later then to all you PC’s and playstation players leave that crap and go to 360

Leave PC and go to 360? Are you smoking crack? Better controls, insanely better graphics, and super intense 32 vs. 32 as opposed to the lame 12 on 12?

      NO THANKS!

I want my mortar strike back!!!! It was one of the things that made a sniper class useful. There is only so long you can sit guarding an area and have nobody come through before you become useless. The mortar strike at least allowed the sniper to take out vehicles and damage buildings as well, making it useful when infantry targets were not present.

    • androidpk1
      October 15th, 2013 at 8:33 pm

When did recon ever have mortar strike? In BF3 it was the support class that had it.

I think that Dice should make it so that the sniper rifles can do 1 hit kills to the head and upper chest at all ranges. That’s probably a lot more realistic.

    November 18th, 2013 at 7:49 am

Dude, the Recon class had the mortar strike in Battlefield Bad Company 2, and the Support class (my favorite) didn’t have mortar strike, they had individual mortars’, and Xbox 360 kid? You think people would leave the greatest system on earth for your retarded Xbox? 12 v 12 was impossible on the large scale maps of Battlefield 3. Can’t wait to get Battlefield 4 btw.

they got the shit all messed up… the people at DICE need to make it one hit kill with almost all them rifles… in reality the 7.62×51 will leave a respectable cavity in somebody up to 1000 yards.

Iraq vet u no how it is with these games ur guys gets shot to shit and in real life there would be nothing left but then they get revived by a magic difib or the pistols being so over powered the beat just about everything I’m not criticizing u I agree with u

    December 27th, 2013 at 11:11 pm

the RFB and the ACE 53 SV will be considered DMRs not sniper rifles and the L96 will be in the china rising dlc which for some reason its free and the DLCs are already on there its probably due to the bugs the game has been having and EA getting sued and all the fixes are being put on hold. All the semi-auto sniper rifles we had in bf3 will be considered DMRs so theres no point in putting false information when the ame is already out
