Lucasfilm has released the first trailer for the first Star Wars anime series on Netflix, Star Wars: Visions. The series is an anime anthology that will chronicle the time between “The Return of the Jedi” and “The Force Awakens”. Although no actors were announced, a voice cast is expected to be announced at a later date.

The first trailer for a new Star Wars anime series called “Star Wars: Visions” has been released by Lucasfilm. The trailer pictures the series’ main character, Jyn Erso, as a child with her father Galen Erso, who is voiced by Orson Krennic, who was the main antagonist in the last Star Wars movie – “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”. The other characters voice by some of the main Star Wars actors and actresses will be: Ian McDiarmid, the voice of Emperor Palpatine; Manu Bennett, who is the voice of Death Trooper; and Christopher Lee, who is the voice of Count Dooku.

With a title like Star Wars: Visions, I wouldn’t be surprised if fans of the Star Wars franchise were excited to see what Lucasfilm has in store for the new anime series. Star Wars: Visions is an anime anthology series that is being made in collaboration with the Japanese animation studio Toei Animation. The series will be a mix of anime shorts and full length films, and will span five seasons. The first season, Star Wars: Visions – The Force Awakens, will be released later in 2017 in Japan by Toei Animation. Star Wars: Visions – The Force Awakens will feature the voice cast from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and will include characters from the Star Wars universe.

The first trailer for Lucasfilm’s new program, Star Wars: Visions, has been published.

Star Wars: Visions is an anticipated anthology series that will premiere exclusively on Disney+ and explore new Star Wars tales through the eyes of different Japanese anime artists. There will be a total of nine animated shorts available, each with either the original Japanese voice cast or an English version.

While most anime fans prefer the original Japanese language tracks, Star Wars: Visions has an impressive English voice cast. It features Temuera Morrison, the original Jango Fett and Boba Fett actor, as well as other well-known actors like as Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (Mortal Kombat), Lucy Liu (Charlie’s Angels), and Neil Patrick Harris (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) (Starship Troopers).

“Lucasfilm is partnering with seven of the most talented anime studios in Japan to bring their signature style and unique vision of the Star Wars galaxy to this inspired new series,” says James Waugh, executive producer and Lucasfilm Vice President, Franchise Content & Strategy.

“Their tales represent the entire range of daring storytelling found in Japanese animation; each is presented with a freshness and voice that broadens our perception of what a Star Wars narrative might be, and honors a galaxy that has inspired so many creative storytellers.”

Beginning September 22, 2024, Star Wars: Visions will be available exclusively on Disney+.
